Last time, the party returned from the Hob temple back in Porn City, aided (or "aided") by Sally Price - Lois's mother. Sally had done some dubious calls; seemingly actively working against the group. When confronted over this, she dismissed it as "testing the group", and "testing your loyalty". But blood is thicker than water, and Sally's blood ran thick in Lois's veins. so it was put down as frustration, impatience, paranoia and psychosis on her part.

Sally Price, mid rant

Sally went on a rant. "Thackery was a traitor! Julius too!" She barely paused to wipe the spittle from the corners of her mouth. "Gatex was a traitor! Le Brun and Greybank cultists were traitors - every one. Traitors everywhere! Even my own daughter?!"

Lois insisted to her mother that she and the party were not traitors, and were loyal to a fault; that calmed Sally down a bit.

"Is Amelia still at Wizards' Guild?" asked Cody. wryly, knowing full-well the answer.

"Too right," said Sally. "She is loyal."

The party were eventually released from their chains, but their magical collars were left on.

The next morning, they all returned to the WG, and Sally dished out the next mission.

Sally wanted to get hold of six items of high tech.

All of  collars are removed except for the one on Tom. She left that on as "insurance". It would be detonated if any for of treachery is detected, (or imagined).

The party finally gets to the bottom of the portals. There are six of them.

Portal routes

Each pod has a one-way portal can be set up to exit into another of the pods. The hex key "switch" had three positions, so one portal could go to three destinations. The group had mapped out some of the routes. There was some form of time change as well, but they never worked out the significance of that. It was only detectable from Cody and Lois's WG Chronometer, and it was so small that the affect could not be used to any advantage.

After much arguing, the group decided to go back into the Porn City sewers to find the original pod. They were beginning to doubt it was blown up after all - despite the big crater in several neighbourhoods.

Sally arranged wagons to send the group into the Throak warehouse and down through the floor into the sewers.

"Remember the separation of powers, Cody," said Sally wistfully. "In the Land of the Deaf, the one-earred man gets the glasses."

"Uuh, yes miss."

Willow has eidetic memory so remembers all he sees, so he lead the way.

First place to g is the chamber with the seventy-year-old rotting creature corpse. Past that creature was a vertical shaft. A deep hole indeed. New.

It ran vertical 45 paces straight down - 15 storeys. Only one party member could handle this: Munch. So Munch and his magic rope spent the next few days decking out a path, with pitons, rope and metal hooks, so that the rest of the group could descend 15 storeys down the shaft without needing to make a Dexterity roll, or a Climb roll.

Half way down this shaft, there was a shaft out sideways, heading off at a 1 in 3 pitch. Cody tossed one of his Continual Light croquet balls up this shaft. The sloped tunnel was was pretty straight, but the ball soon stopped, and then came rolling back, at pace, and shot out of the shaft ("I am not frigging' catching that!"), bounced off Tom's helmet and then fell all the way down.

At the very bottom, there was the metal half-dome - the Porn City pod itself. So it hadn't blown up at all. All the explosion had done was to jam the pod vertically down into the living rock, and sent out a side-ways explosion forming a new shaft. The end of this shaft blossomed out into the Porn Crater.

Nasty creatures

The shaft was pretty fractured around the pod at its base, and there was enough space for two green creatures to come scuttling around to pay the party a visit of good will.

Munch leading the way, shrieked a scaly warning. Lois and Cody let rip two Fireballs, but that only made them bigger. Tom sighed and launched into them, fighting them both.

Horizon Array

Munch and his "glass jaw" rejoined the fray, and helped with his zapping stick. After a fraught battle, the green creatures were killed, and the group successfully got down and into the pod.

In the floor of the pod was another floor hatch. To a pink portal.

There was also two metal eggs. And a metal cylinder with a button and a tiny hole.

They also found the Horizon Array

Needing to rest, the group withdrew into Porn City and spent a few days resting, healing and recharging.

Munch tested the cylinder. A tiny needle pops out with a drop. Not poison.

Back to the pod and through the portal. Esme went through first.

The group all arrived in Greybank at the pod there. This was the ransacked pod in the cellars of the Shi  estate. 

The group had never thorough searched that mansion, so no time like the present... a thorough search began. In the Shi library, they found some magical spectacles. And some vials.

A group of werebears had taken up residence in the abandoned Shi estate. Father, mother and child. Steptoe, Lucinda and Alfie. 

Munch gets teased

The search continued. Munch got caught by a magic trap in a lock which shrunk him to the size of a thumb and teleported him into a vial. Cody and Lois contemplated taking one of the Spider Climb spiders, a fat funnel web, and putting it into the vial with the tiny Munch. "Surely he hast borne our griefs," teased Cody. "And carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten by a spider, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his bites we are healed."

Cody used Gaseous Form and floated upstairs to the kitchen and located the three werebears.

The party confronted them, and after a short battled, killed them. Tom got dropped and lay on the ground frothing, writhing.

When a were creature (wolf, tiger, bear, etc.) changes into its animal form, does that cure hp damage?

No, changing into an animal form as a lycanthrope does not cure hit point damage.

Unlike the druid Wild Shape - which does.

Life-Weave Sphere

The werebears' cloak (Hiding - still = invisible), axe ("of the wilderness". if roll 1 or 20, give lycanthrope) and ring ("of the wilderness"), are all magic.

We are worried that Tom has been infected by werebear lycanthrope, so we elect to use the Scanner to cure him totally.
